About Us
Old Dogs, New Tricks is a volunteer-run program in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Our mission, in the order that matters: help our neighbors over 60 discover the genuinely useful, genuinely fun things AI can do for them — and, along the way, make sure the old cons in their new clothes don’t stand a chance around here.
We’d rather be remembered as “the class that opened up exciting new possibilities” than as a lecture about scams. If someone forgets every warning but leaves knowing five new things AI can do for them, we count that as a win.
Volunteer with us
You do not need to be a computer whiz. Our best volunteers are simply patient people who like their neighbors. If you can share a cup of coffee and say “let’s try that again, no rush,” you’re qualified. Training provided; schedules flexible.
Donate
We run on printing costs, coffee, and goodwill. Every dollar goes to large-print handouts, refreshments, and keeping every class free. Call (575) 555-0100 to give — we’ll take a check, gladly, like it’s 1985.
A promise we’ll keep repeating
We are neighbors, not a tech company. We never sell anything, never ask for your passwords, and never call you asking for money. If someone claiming to be us does any of those things, they aren’t us — please tell us right away.
